MANAGEMENT SKILLS INDEX - Only available in french
To improve the competitiveness and profitability of companies, PROACTION works with them on four aspects: work procedures, management system, communication and managers’ behaviour. Our creative approach is supported by one of our tools, the MSI™ (Management Skills Index), that measures the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to be an excellent manager and enables us to offer tailor-made coaching to managers and to measure their progress. LEVEL 1 (very weak) managers do not understand the principles of active supervision, their roles and their responsibilities. They are always in reactive mode, do very little monitoring of their employees’ performance, attach very little importance to planning and place no emphasis on cost control. LEVEL 1 managers have serious difficulty communicating expectations to employees, implement very few improvements on the ground, lack leadership and take very few initiatives. LEVEL 5 managers are excellent managers who understand, master and apply the principles of sound management.
PERSONAL SITUATION INDEX - Only available in french
The PSI™ measures the Personal Situation of managers within the context of their work. The questions are about confidence, self-esteem, belonging and physical as well as mental security. The results facilitate understanding how individuals feel inside their work climate, if they use their full potential and if they are able to absorb new information or not. A Level 1 PSI™ is of great concern to a company. These managers have low self-esteem; they have no confidence in themselves or in their teammates. These managers do not use their talents and are far from maximizing their potential. They usually lack focus, make many errors and do not master their roles and responsibilities. A high PSI™ is typical of managers who use their potential, strengths and talents to the fullest. They are able to absorb new information and are ready to learn. They want to improve on the technical level as well as on the personal level
ACTIVE SUPERVISION INDEX - Only available in french
Active supervision should be a supervisor’s main activity and is defined by tasks such as:
Assigning work with clear instructions; Communicating expectations and operational goals to employees; Regularly following-up on assigned work; Quantifying gaps and variations from the plan; Communicating efficiency and/or quality outcomes to employees; Identifying and resolving problems with employees; Monitoring compliance with the company’s policies; Monitoring the work procedures that have been implemented.
There is a direct correlation between inadequate and/or very infrequent active supervision and poor productivity in Quebec companies
Orientation-objectives - Only available in french
The orientation-objectives (O²™ ) is the more rational side of the CF²™ . It means sharing objectives, goals or expectations related to tasks to accomplish. It is important to reward the team members however it is as important to know in which direction we are going. The O²™ orients and the CF²™ motivates !
Leadership 360° - Only available in french
The L360°™ is used to calculate the leadership level of managers, evaluating the level of leadership as perceived by their employees, the managers themselves and their superiors. Level 1 managers are reactive rather than proactive. Their attitudes do not align with their responsibilities and they have little, if any, impact on the results produced by their teams. Level 5 managers, however, are credible, motivated and motivating, good communicators and excellent facilitators. They direct without imposing, suggest without dictating. They strategically plan each of their actions and know how to adapt to the unexpected.
CONSIDERATION FACTORS - Only available in french
The CF²™ is a tool that was developed to measure the number of Consideration Factors that managers show their employees. Consideration Factors can manifest themselves in three ways, verbally (Excellent!), by gestures (e.g., a smile) or physical contact (e.g., a pat on the shoulder). Consideration Factors have numerous positive impacts: feelings of being considered, valued, encouraged, respected, recognized, and trusted. Consideration that is rarely expressed and lack of respect are two of the reasons for the low productivity of human resources in Quebec.
In Quebec, managers give themselves an average rating of 1.4 consideration factors per employee, per day, which is far too few. Level 1 managers do not master the human aspect of their work. They do not know what is going on in their group and have the tendency to blame and point the finger at those who make the error or omission. Level 5 managers, however, prioritize the human aspect. They encourage productivity by creating a climate of achievement, not oppression.
